"The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it." John 1:5

Easter’s Faith Formation Center (EFFC) provides an extraordinary venue—academic, informational, social—for those who want to enrich their understanding of the Catholic faith.  Courses cover Church history, the Catechism of the Catholic Church, the thought of John Paul II, the Summa of St. Thomas Aquinas, Christian ethics, the cardinal and theological virtues, the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius, end-of-life care, and other theological topics.  Periodically, national and international speakers come to talk about everything from radical Islam to Christian witness.

The Center began in the Fall of 2011.  Since then, we’ve had the privilege of teaching hundreds of students from all walks of life, ranging in age from 16 to 76.  Some were catechists or catechists-in-training; most had no formal experience with philosophy or theology.  So, while the instructors often use undergraduate to graduate material, they do so in a way that assures understanding, regardless of background.

The EFFC is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that:

  • Supports the development of catechesis in the Diocese of Sacramento,
  • Promotes the Catechism of the Catholic Church, and
  • Provides an academic and spiritual environment that engenders putting on the mind and heart of Christ.

We welcome your attendance at the classes, most require no pre-registration.

Please join us in the work of Easter's Faith Formation Center,  financial support is greatly needed to keep these courses free and available to all who desire to attend.
